Here are some key features and advantages of LPVO Scopes: The Best 1-6x Scopes

Variable Magnification: LPVOs allow shooters to quickly adjust the magnification level, typically ranging from 1x to a higher value like 4x, 6x, or even 8x.

This versatility enables the shooter to engage targets at various distances, from close-quarters to medium-range engagements.

Close-Quarters Speed: At the lowest magnification setting (usually 1x or close to it), LPVOs provide a true 1x magnification, essentially functioning as a red dot sight.

This allows for rapid target acquisition and engagement, like using a reflex or holographic sight. It’s ideal for close quarters shooting or engaging fast-moving targets.

Increased Accuracy at Distance: By adjusting the magnification to a higher setting, LPVOs allow for more precise aiming and target identification at extended distances.

The ability to zoom in enables shooters to make accurate shots and engage targets at greater ranges than possible with lower magnification optics.

Reticle Options: LPVOs come with various reticle options, including traditional crosshair, illuminated dot, BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation), and ranging reticles.

The choice of reticle depends on the specific shooting needs and preferences of the shooter.

Durability and Construction: LPVOs are built to withstand the rigors of shooting and adverse environmental conditions.

They often feature rugged construction, shockproof design, and weather resistance to ensure reliable performance in various scenarios.

Transition Speed: LPVOs offer the advantage of quickly transitioning between low and high magnification settings. This is particularly useful in dynamic shooting situations where targets may vary in distance or when transitioning between close-quarters and medium-range engagements.

Versatility: LPVOs are popular choices for a wide range of shooting applications, including hunting, competitive shooting, tactical operations, and self-defense.

They provide a single optic solution that can adapt to different shooting scenarios and environments.

Overall, LPVOs offer a versatile and effective solution for shooters who require the flexibility to engage targets at various distances without sacrificing close-quarters speed and situational awareness.

What is 1-6x Scopes

1-6x scopes, also known as variable-power scopes, are popular among shooters and hunters due to their versatility.

These scopes offer a magnification range from 1x to 6x, allowing users to adjust the level of magnification according to their shooting needs.

Here are some reasons why 1-6x scopes are favored by many:

Versatility: The ability to switch between 1x and 6x magnification makes these scopes suitable for various shooting scenarios. At 1x magnification, the scope functions like a red dot sight, offering a wide field of view and allowing for quick target acquisition and close-quarters shooting. On the other hand, at 6x magnification, the scope provides enhanced precision for longer-range shots.

Close-quarters shooting: The 1x magnification setting of these scopes is particularly useful for engaging targets in close-quarters environments. It offers a true 1x view, meaning that the sight picture is not distorted or magnified. This allows shooters to keep both eyes open, maintaining situational awareness while aiming.

Long-range capability: When the situation calls for it, shooters can dial up the magnification to 6x to engage targets at longer distances.

This added magnification enables precise aiming, making it easier to identify and engage targets at extended ranges.

Speed and quick target acquisition: With a low magnification setting, 1-6x scopes facilitate rapid target acquisition.

The wide field of view and forgiving eye relief allows shooters to quickly acquire and engage targets, making them suitable for dynamic shooting scenarios or fast-moving targets.

Ease of use: 1-6x scopes are generally straightforward to use, as the variable magnification can be easily adjusted using a simple dial or lever. Shooters can adapt to changing shooting conditions by quickly adjusting the magnification level.

Weight and size: Compared to higher-magnification scopes, 1-6x scopes tend to be more compact and lightweight.

This can be advantageous for shooters who value mobility and maneuverability, such as those engaging in hunting or tactical shooting.

Overall, 1-6x scopes offer a versatile solution for shooters who desire both close-quarters speed and the ability to engage targets at longer ranges.

They combine the benefits of red dot sights and higher-magnification scopes into a single package, providing shooters with flexibility in various shooting scenarios.

VMR-2 MOA Reticle

Designed to maximize long-distance shooting and ranging abilities, the VMR-2 MOA reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, windage corrections, and moving target leads.

The second focal plane (SFP) reticles are located near the scope’s eyepiece behind the image erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle does not visually change in size when you change the magnification.

The advantage of an SFP reticle is that it always maintains the same ideally-sized appearance.

When shooting with this SFP scope, be aware that the listed reticle subtensions used for estimating range, holdover, and wind drift correction are only accurate at the highest magnification.

The scope is good glass and holds a zero well. I have the green illuminated reticle. In daylight you might as well turn it off and just use the etched dark reticle. At 1x in daylight it is really a challenge to see.

All adjustments work smoothly, turrets are hidden under the cap, and everything looks good. I’m only missing the illumination feature on this scope.

Bushnell 1-4x24 Elite 4500 4X

Pro-tip. Because the scope’s reticle is very simple and does not provide any sort of elevation or windage adjustment help, your best bet for zeroing it is to use a laser bore sighter.

Just insert it into your barrel and zero your scope’s crosshair on its dot.

Then on a range you can finish fine-tuning your aim at 4x magnification according to Bushnell’s guidelines. This will save you tons of ammo…. Read More

I love this Monstrum G2 1-4×24 scope! At 1 power it is like a red dot. It is perfect as my tree stand gun and woods gun scope. I also bought the 1-6x monstrum for my AR10.

This scope is simply amazing, especially considering the price. After spending a couple of years searching for a FFP optic that cost less than $1,000. Most FFP scopes average around $1200.

The quality of the optic is right up there with the more expensive offerings by the big-name manufacturers.

The view is incredibly bright, and the lighted BDC Reticle (in either green or red) is fantastic! The honeycomb glare reducer is a bonus as well.

Other than that, if you’re a shooter, and you want a high-quality FFP optic, definitely check out Monstrum Tactical for the most affordable FFP scope on the market…. Read More..

About this item

3. Limited Magnification Range: While the 1-4x magnification range is suitable for close to mid-range shooting, it may not be sufficient for shooters who require higher magnification for long-range engagements or precision shooting.

If you’re looking for a good mid-tier LPVO without breaking the bank, this is it. For the price, it can’t be beaten. The glass clarity and reticle are good, build quality is great.

This is a great starter LPVO before you move up to high-tier LPVOs like Kahles, Steiner, Night force, etc.

Burris RT-6 1-6x24

This scope sits on my AR and is a perfect addition to my 300 yd range. I can clearly see targets at both 300 yds and 20 yds when using the almost true 1x zoom.

There is very little distortion, to the point that i have to look for it to notice it. The 6x zoom has nice eye relief and isn’t difficult to get a good sight picture.

I’ve found that the lens in this Burris scope is as good as any out there today and costs less. This model is an AR 15 oriented scope that is excellent for ranges from 25-300 meters.

The adjustment on illumination is fantastic- with the off positions between each level setting you can set the level you want, turn the knob one clicks to turn it off.

Then when you want to use it again, turn it one click and you are at your desired setting. No more going through multiple setting levels to get back to your desired setting.

I would have preferred having a flip-up lens cover come with it, but those can be ordered separately. .. Read More...
